Immediately after a judgment you intend to appeal, within the time limit.

Drafting notes
- Act in time
- File within the prescribed time of the decision — time is strict and an out-of-time notice can be incompetent; seek leave/extension where needed.
- Get the record
- Apply promptly for a certified copy of the proceedings, judgment and decree, and keep proof of the request.
- Scope
- State whether you appeal the whole or part of the decision.
- Address for service
- Give an address for service of appeal documents and serve the respondent.
Execution requirements
- File the notice within the prescribed time and serve the respondent.
- Prepare the record and memorandum of appeal setting out the grounds.
- Pay the fees and any security for costs required — confirm the current amounts.
