1. 'Title

This Order may be cited as the Electricity (Exemption from Holding Licence) (Winch Energy Uganda SMC Limited) Order, 2020.

2. Exemption

Winch Energy Uganda SMC Limited is exempted from the requirement to hold a licence under sections 51, 57 and 59 of the Electricity Act, 1999, for the generation, distribution or sale of electricity to promote rural electrification from a 120K W solar hybrid isolated grid system at Bujanko Island, Mpigi District.

This Order shall lapse where the power plant referred to under paragraph 2 is interconnected to the main grid or where the power plant is upgraded to a capacity greater than two megawatts.
