1. Title

This Order may be cited as the Marriage (Appointment of Registrar General) Order, 2024.

2. Appointment of Registrar General

(1)

The Executive Director of the National Identification and Registration Authority is appointed to act as Registrar General for the purposes of the Marriage Act.

(2)

For the avoidance doubt, the Registrar General appointed under the Uganda Registration Services Bureau Act and who has been acting as the Registrar General for the purposes of the Marriage Act shall, from the date of commencement of this instrument, cease to act as the Registrar General for purposes of the Marriage Act.
