In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires (a) "approved industry" means an industry specified in the Schedule to this Act; (b) "Commissioner General" means the Commissioner General of Customs; (c) "committee" means the Customs Refund Advisory Committee established by section 2; (d) "customs duty" means any customs duty leviable under the Customs Tariff Act; (e) "goods" has the same meaning assigned to it in section 2 of the East African Customs and Transfer Tax Management Act; (f) "Minister" means the Minister responsible for finance; (g) "partner States" means Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya.
