or during the exercise of its powers under section 241(1), the General Court Martial (a) may exercise any of the powers conferred on the General Court Martial as an appellate court by this Act;
(b) may, pending the final determination of the case, release any convicted person on bail;
(c) may, if it thinks fit, call for and receive from the Unit Court Martial or Division Court Martial before
which the case was heard, a report on any matter connected with the case;

(d) shall not make any order to the prejudice of an accused person unless he or she has had an
opportunity to be heard in his or her own defence.
