(1) There is established the National Recognition and Reward Scheme which shall be a scheme of
Government to recognise and award outstanding and deserving sports personalities who bring honour to Uganda.
(2) The Minister may, by statutory instrument, in consultation with the Minister responsible for
finance and the Minister responsible for public service, prescribe the awards, including monetary payments, pension and gratuity that may be awarded to the sports personalities under the National Recognition and Reward Scheme established under subsection (1).
