Section 75: Management of ozone depleting substances and products

(1) The Authority shall, in consultation with the relevant lead agency, undertake research and other studies and give due recognition to developments in scientific knowledge on substances, activities and practices that deplete the stratospheric ozone layer and other components of the stratosphere to the detriment of human health and the environment. (2) The Authority shall, in consultation with the relevant lead agency, issue guidelines and undertake programmes relating to- (a) the elimination of substances, technologies and equipment that deplete the ozone layer, including ozone friendly substances that contribute to global warming; (b) practices and activities likely to lead to the degradation of the stratospheric ozone layer; and (c) the reduction and minimisation of risks to human health and the environment created by the degradation of the stratospheric ozone layer.
