Accessibility at Wakilii

We want Ugandan legal research to work for people using keyboards, screen readers, magnification, touch, voice and other assistive technology.

Independent audit status

An independent WCAG 2.2 Level AA audit has not yet been completed. Wakilii therefore does not claim full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance. An external, conflict-cleared assessment and independent retest remain required.

What is tested internally

Our release checks cover the principal professional workflow: asking and reading an answer, inspecting sources and disclosures, saving research, managing an authority bundle, copying citations, exporting a research memorandum, continuing a matter, authentication and recovery states.

  • Automated WCAG-tagged checks in Chromium, Firefox and WebKit, including Android and iOS browser emulation.
  • Keyboard paths, accessible names, live status announcements, reduced-motion settings, reflow and mobile layouts.
  • Clipboard-permission denial, so citation copying has a selectable manual fallback.

Automated checks and emulation do not replace testing by disabled people or manual testing with VoiceOver, NVDA and TalkBack.

Assessment still required

The commissioned assessment must include keyboard-only use, VoiceOver with Safari, NVDA with Firefox or Chrome, TalkBack on Android, 200% and 400% zoom, text-spacing overrides, reduced motion, high contrast, and mobile portrait and landscape. Critical and serious defects in the principal workflow must be independently retested before closure.

Known limitations

  • No independent conformance determination or disabled-user study has been completed for the current release.
  • Browser emulation cannot prove how every operating-system and assistive-technology combination behaves.
  • Exported Word documents can be changed after download, and their accessibility may depend on the software used to open and edit them.

Include the page, what you were trying to do, your browser and assistive technology if you are comfortable sharing them, and the format in which you need the information. Do not email confidential client material.
